M1 Bank National Headquarters Master Plan

CORE10 is proud to continue serving M1 Bank through phase I of their headquarters in downtown Clayton. Following their acquisition of three contiguous sites across the street from Clayton City Hall on Bemiston, we completed a master site plan for the future of the bank’s operations.

The Bemiston location, known in Clayton as Gershman Mortgage’s former headquarters, was completely gutted for a total building renovation. During architectural planning, CORE10 discovered that the building was once a car dealership. Demolition of the interiors proved an architectural hunch - there was a large, open space buried within. Exposing the beautiful steel trusses supporting an arched wooden roof instantly opened up the previous maze of small offices. Knowing that M1 Bank is a generous supporter of the local community, and that they desire to host philanthropic functions, we designed this space as a stunning banquet center attached to a new outdoor courtyard carved into the building. The final result is a surprising addition to the M1 campus born from exposing the raw beauty of the existing buildings onsite.
